Sunday Afternoon:
Sunday Night:
Oh, is it wrong to admit how much more I love this little guy now that he's out!?!?! I love, love, LOVE this feeling! The feeling of not being pregnant, that is. Not so much the feeling of I-just-barely-barely-finished-being-pregnant. That feeling is not so great, the details of which I will leave to the memories of those who have experienced it, and to the imaginations of those who have not.
Everyone, I would like you to meet our newest little addition:
Miles Conrad Alder
8 lbs. 12 oz.
21.7 inches long
(the appropriateness of inserting a picture
of him alone here is extreme -
however, in my haze of very
little sleep over the last 3 nights,
I seem to have neglected to take one,
and hence, only have a million
pictures of him with other people.
Do not fear, though...
...this fact will soon be changed.)
I would really like to delve into the whole story, but my eyes are finding it difficult to stay open (almost impossible). So, I'll leave you with some of my favorite pictures instead.
Big Sister
Big Brother
McKenzie is saying, "Why is he making those grunting noises?" I love Brian's face in this one - does he just adore her, or what?
My Boys
Family of Five - it's getting harder and harder to get us all looking decent in the same photo...we tried about 7 times - and this is as good as we could get.
Yes, yes, you may have noticed. My hair and my makeup are two days old now - but there are some times where the moment that is captured doesn't necessarily depend on the beauty of the subjects involved.
Welcome to our family, little Miles.
You look wonderful!! So happy he's here and you both are doing well! GREAT family pic!! Congratulations! And, you've blogged already...amazing woman!!
ReplyDeleteHooray!!! We are so excited you're here little Miles!! What a lucky boy you are - you have a great family! Can't wait to see him in person.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! He must have come early! I can't wait to hear more, of course, when you've caught up on some sleep (if that happens anytime soon). Three kids. That's so crazy to me since I can't imagine having two. I'm jealous of the not pregnant thing though. I'm super huge and still have over two months to go! Miles is a cutie though and looks just like his siblings. Very cute family!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Lindsay! Congratulations! I've been thinking about you, wondering how you were holding up.. So glad to hear that little Miles made it safely and happily to join your cute little family.. Now go get some rest!! :D
ReplyDeleteYAAAYYYY!!!! Congratulations!! I kind of stalked you a little, calling your house a bunch of times this morning, thinking, they don't have caller ID so they won't know how many times I called:). I was so excited when Brian picked up the phone and told me the news. Tell that little guy not to grow one bit until we get home on Sat.! I'm so glad things went well and can't wait to meet him and hear the whole story!
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering about you! Congrats. Do write the birth story (or short synopsis) sometime if you get the chance. I LOVE the name Miles, and you look amazing girlie!
ReplyDeleteHooray! I was hoping that you'd had him while we were gone. I can't wait to hear all about it!
ReplyDeleteBTW--you have NO idea about hard family pictures...not until you add 3 1 year olds! ;)
Thanks for posting pictures! He does look like Carson. Or... at least what I remember Carson looking like... of course... I think most babies look the same... disregard everything that has been said so far...
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting pictures! I have to say Linds that you look amazing. You don't look super tired, and you look really young, too. Just so you know. And in actuality... I really do think he looks like Carson. :) Can't wait to see you guys in person.
Miss ya.

Oh, he has such big eyes (in the picture where they're open). I can't wait to see him. And you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on little Miles. He is beautiful. I am relieved you and baby are safe. But wow, Lindsay, how in the world did you fit a 8 lb 12 oz baby in there. Can't wait for my own freedom hopefully sooner than later.
ReplyDeleteYea!!!!!!!!!! What a darling little boy! I am so happy for you--I have been thinking of you and knowing how anxious you were for his arrival! Congrats! Love ya! (random: my word verification here is milyr, which is kind of like Miles, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteWe are so excited to see your family! Dad said that Carson doesn't look like Carson, but Miles does! (The kids are growing up way to fast!!!

ReplyDeleteAHHH... you have such a cute family!! Congrats he is an adorable little baby! And you look beautiful for just having a baby! CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new baby. U know what you mean about the feeling after having the baby and also about taking pictures. When we tried to get decent pictures, it was hard to see at least one of their faces in each picture. It takes awhile to everyone paying attention. What an adorable baby.
ReplyDeleteLindsay,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new arrival! That is so awesome and I can only imagine the shear elation and joy you have now that Miles has made his appearance on this earthly stage. You have a beautiful family and we still miss having you close by. Thank you for your faithful postings so that we can keep up on your family.
You look so beautiful... and he is so adorable! Congratulations to you all! We miss and love you guys... Katherine
ReplyDeleteLinds, I'm SOOO excited for you. Seeing your cute family makes me sooo excited for our little one coming. It's hard to believe I'm only half way to your point. I'm glad that you were at the hospital when I called today. Thanks for posting the pictures. He's such a cutie. I love the first picture and the one with all the boys. You look amazing, tired, but amazing. Good luck with your new little Miles and try to get some rest. Love you!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I always love the babies more once they are out. I hate being pregnant, but I love babies! Plus it's nice to be able to set them down, or hand them to someone else once in a while. He is adorable, and you look beautiful! I never would have guessed your makeup was 2 days old if you hadn't spilled the beans.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your beautiful baby boy. I am so glad I ran into Brian at the hospital and got the chance to visit you guys. Miles is adorable just like his big sister and brother. Made my wait for Larry's surgery to be over a lot more pleasant!!!
ReplyDeleteYAY! He is so cute! I love his name too. Your pictures are great and I'm glad you posted them. I can't wait to meet him when I get back! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Lindsay! I'm so glad he came during Bryan's nightfloat. Just when you wanted him to, right! What perfect timing Miles. Hope you're feeling well.
ReplyDeleteWow! Since I never see you guys, I didn't realize how close you were to freedom - and I know EXACTLY what you mean and loving the child after they are OUT. You look amazing and your family is beautiful. I'm so happy for you guys! Keep the pictures coming :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! He looks just like you guys ;)
ReplyDeleteYAHOOOOOO! We are so excited for you guys! Congrats! He is so cute and I love the name! He totally looks like an alder! Congrats- hugs and Kisses! The Taylors
ReplyDeleteLindsay- I forgot to say that seeing that picture of you(still prego) brings back memories of the first Sunday we met you guys. You came up to us and introduced yourself. You were about that pregnant with Carson. Wow! how time flies!
ReplyDeleteTHIRTY-TWO COMMENTS?? Dang... there has got to be an easier way than having a baby to find out if I have any friends...
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to have them out isn't it!? What a cute little man you have there. Congrats!
