Happy New Year!

With these adorable cheeks in my life...

...these happy, bright eyes...

...this curly, red hair...

...these beautiful faces...

....and NO planned pregnancies to shake my hormonal balance...

2010 has the potential to be a great year!

And, as kind of a side note, I've been looking into digital scrapbooking programs (you think you have my new years resolution figured out, don't you? Well, can you blame me? All these pictures have to go somewhere!) - - - but I'm a little overwhelmed by the variety of them. Do any of you use a program that you love?

  1. Linds- those are some seriously great photos! And I feel the same way- a whole year (I certainly hope) with my body all to myself:).

Oh- and I just saw that my "bot code" is: tchetusp...which sounds like a Carsonism if there ever was one...

  2. Digital scrapbooking: Brady actually got me one for Christmas (and it says something about being the most popular program, yadda, yadda), but um, I haven't exactly done anything with it yet, so I have currently have no opinion or recommendations...stay tuned

I use blurb. I love blurb. I talk about it all the time. It is not the most scrapbooky program, but it is easy to use and gives your beautiful books.

  4. I can see why you had a hard time choosing pictures of Miles. What cute little faces. Your kids are so cute! Kenz is so beautiful. It amazes me how much she's grown up. It seems like yesterday we were all standing together at Katherine's blessing. I miss you and your sweet children. Enjoy your year!

  5. For the most flexibility, you really just want an image editing program. I have used Microsoft Digital Image Pro (which I think may be no longer made) and now I am using Photoshop Elements. I like them both... really though you can use any image editing program. One that can handle PNG files is easiest, but I have a friend who just used the program that came with her digital camera and she made it work out okay.

The actual digital scrapbooking programs are less customizable (unless they've changed in the last few years and then I have no idea what I'm talking about!).

  6. Oh Lindsey - such sweet photos! You seem to be adjusting to your new camera quite nicely.. :) As far as digital scrapbooking goes, I use Photoshop CS3, but tons and tons and tons of people use Photoshop Elements and are completely happy with it.. Aside from the huge difference in price, there are really only a few minor things you don't get with Elements that you do with the full program. I don't know much about programs specifically created for scrapbooking - DIP, GIMP, etc - but I have heard that most of them only let you use the images that come with the program, or ones you continue to buy from the company. aka - any freebies you may find and download wouldn't be compatible. But yeah - like Cindy said - so long as it handles PNG and JPEG file types, you should be just fine! Oh - and look around on Ebay and Amazon once you decide you've found something you want to buy.. You can usually always get them there for a margin of the cost you'd pay in the store. Good luck! I'm excited to see where this takes you!! :D

  7. I LOVE Miles's red hair!! So unexpected. I too am NOT going to be pregnant this year and I have BIG, BIG plans. I am still nursing however so I'm a little limited that way. But oh well. We just bought Photoshop Elements for Christmas. I haven't busted into it yet, but I'm hopeful. Good luck.

  12. oh, and guess who is stuffing her face with cheeseball at the moment? That would be me. (heaven)

Since you fattened me up, are you going to come help me lose it now?

  13. What did you use for your background? Like I said earlier, terrific pics. And they don't look overexposed to me!

I've always used DIP, and I really love it. But Microsoft stopped making it and now it costs a fortune. I think you can actually try out a lot of Photoshop Elements online. It's also good because there are so many tutorials and digital elements that are Elements compatible. I can't remember what other programs people are using right now...I think a lot of people use a Corel Draw program...

  14. What a sweet little face! Oh, your kids are adorable. As for the scrapbooking, just use a photoeditor program (like photoshop - the simple version not the psycho version) and download scrapbook kits from the internet for free. Easy!
