Blasted Bug

24 hour unmerciful stomach bug...................
5 affected people...............................................
3 long days.........................................................
8 pairs of underwear for Carson.....................
2 pairs of underwear for Kenzie......................
2 overworked toilets.........................................
1 blue throw-up bucket....................................
+ 32 hours of television...............................................
---------------------------------------------------------
1 happy mom that it's all over

You can see my 3 sick kids on the front couch, my little sick-hub on the back couch, and Brian had just sent a message from work saying that he was sick, too. Poor guy had to power through it at work while the rest of us watched movies all day. We didn't have enough throw-up buckets for all of us (and I'm totally opposed to letting the kids throw up in a bowl that I actually use for cooking - my brain can't get around the mental image of vomit-slop in the bowl I'm tossing a salad in), but thankfully some of us could make it to the toilet in time...and we were mostly in different stages of agony anyway, so we didn't all need it at once.

How was your week?

  1. Ouch! That is a rough week. And I thought it was bad when Katherine got sick for a day and I was trying to keep her seperate from Clara and Brianna. I feel bad for you dealing with 3 sick kids when you're that sick. Oh, and poor Brian. Not fun. I'm glad you are all on the mend.

  3. Feel your pain... we've been there. We called it pass the bucket.

  4. I feel ya. We had the same thing the week before Christmas. Thankfully it was only a two-day venture and thankfully at least the baby was spared. Hope next week is better!

  5. Oh, Lindsay. Yikes. I'm so glad that you are all on the mend. It's a good thing that stomach bugs generally only last a day or two instead of f.o.r.e.v.e.r like colds do. Did I ever tell you about the time I got food poisoning from a date I went on... and then had to take 35 kids on a two day field trip the next day? Yeah... I have some great student teaching memories. :)

Uh- by the way, I'm totally not trying to play the one-up game. I think yours walks on the moon before mine would. I seriously don't think I could deal with other sick people (3!) while being sick myself. Thank heavens for tv, huh??

  6. ICK! I'm sorry, I've felt like I haven't seen you for a bit, what a slacker huh? (me, not you of course!)

I know how you feel, except all of us besides Cory had the cold. It has been a little over a week and we still have it. We are getting better, slowly. That has been my week in a half.

I am glas that it is all over. We will get there.

  8. Ah man, I'm sorry!

Park had a little flu bug last week. But it only involved a fever and a half day of diarrhea. No puke. I guess I should feel lucky??

Get better! And then come hang out with us. :)

(Oh, and sorry if you already got this comment. I thought I commented yesterday, but didn't see it show up!)
