Starting to Cross the LONG Finish Line

I'm getting to the point now where I'm starting to actually finish decorating some of the rooms in our new house. We've started on most of them...but we now have TWO rooms (out of 12) that are completely done. And, since I know you are all hanging off the edge of your seats waiting for pictures, I will comply. :) You saw the pictures of the bathroom already... And now, presenting:

Dining Room Before
-
note the stunning coordination of the wallpaper and curtains...yes, they're the exact same print...

Dining Room After
- note the stunning look of the stained dining table and corner table. Thank you, thank you.

Now, try to relax and don't let your intense desire to see the rest of our house take over your daily responsibilities. We'll get to those pictures soon enough. :)

  6. Hey Linds! I really like reading your blog! It's fun to see what you guys are up to. Sorry we don't keep in better touch. Your house looks like it's coming along great! Chris and I are very much looking forward to the day we'll have our own home. It might have to wait until we make it back to the States-side, but we'll see. Anyway, I can't believe how old McKenzie's looking!!! She's already 4 1/2 isn't she? Wow!!! Time flies!

  8. I'm impressed! (And I'm speaking from personal experience.) We've just been finishing up our living and dining room, and it's been too crazy. The previous owner of the house made her curtains out of what Jeff lovingly called "old nylons" and then she decided to paint AROUND the old nylons, so when we went to replace them, we discovered huge spots on the wall that were a different color... So fun. I'm going to post new pictures on my blog as soon as we finish completely, but unluckily (or luckily) Jeff was so eager to rip down the old curtains, I didn't think to take any "before" pictures.
Sorry that was so long, but anyway, good job!

  10. Okay... somehow I missed the word "before" in the "dining room before" part and I about freaked. I thought the pictures of the before part were what you had actually DONE to the dining room. And you were all pointing out how the wallpaper and curtains matched and I thought you were so proud of that fact. I almost threw up on my shoes. Bless you for NOT decorating like that. Now that I understand how the before/after thing works, I'm happy to say that I love it! It looks amazing!

  13. It takes a lot of vision to see the room you paid for and know the potential it has. Excellent job! I might have to fly you out to wherever we end up living and have you do my house! I love reading your blog. Your writing is amazing. We miss everyone in Durham. Take care. --Brenna

  15. Okay, that is by far the most radical change I've ever seen. I love how you've taken something so hysterically funny and turned it into something out of a magazine. I really should have you come do my house! I look forward to seeing what you have in store for the rest of the house. Oh, and I love how great your "new" table looks in it.
