*I wake up from my dreams feeling like my life has changed in some drastic, yet nonsensical way.

*My work-out routine went from running 3-4 miles a day, to running for 2 minutes and walking for another 20, to nothing at all. Even walking down the hall gets me all out of breath, nauseous and light-headed.
*It takes me at least 30 minutes to shower. (Wash my hair, sit and rest for a minute, condition my hair, sit and rest for a minute, etc...)
*One of our barstools has a permanent place in my bathroom. This way, I can sit while doing my hair and makeup. (all 5 minutes of it)
*My house looks like a tornado went through it - and I don't even care! This is wonderful to me...the fact that I don't care about it. Generally, my personality would be stressed beyond belief if my house was in the state it's in right now...but, I consider myself accomplished if I can get out of bed and get McKenzie to school with her hair done. Cleaning is not on my list of to-dos at the moment.
*My garbage bin went for FOUR weeks without being taken out on garbage day! Thankfully, we don't really produce that much garbage, so it all fit in the trash bin nicely without stinking up my house...but the recycling bin was overflowing and spilling into the road on that fourth week!

*I spend a little more time looking at the world through a teary mist - provoked by all sorts of silly things: commercials, cute kid phrases, disobedience from my kids, a husband running late, fighting kids, a nice phone call, memories, Christmas, large messes that I have to clean, etc...etc...etc...
*Whenever I feel a sneeze coming on, I have to brace myself lest the tendons in my stomach feel like they're being ripped from one end to the other. I guess on the fourth pregnancy, my body doesn't have much 'tightness' left to it. *sigh*
So, while I haven't been blogging much lately, rest assured that I haven't forgotten you. There have just been...other things...that have been taking my time. :) But, I've made it though my first trimester now, and I'm starting to feel MUCH better - so, hopefully, we'll be back to our regular routine in no time!
Actually I WAS missing you! Congrats Lindsay and fam. I am so excited for you. When are you due? I hope you get somewhat back to normal before long.
ReplyDeletei'm sorry you've had such a rough first trimester but i'm excited for you and your family. i hope things will settle down for you. good luck and we're excited to have you back.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I had no idea. I hope you have way less naps now and no more need for TUMS!
ReplyDeleteAnd to make you feel better, I went from running 1.5 miles a day to 0 miles a day and I'm not even pregnant. So it seems, you on your worst pregnancy day is better than me on my best non-pregnancy day! LOL You are great!
I KNEW IT!!! I had just figured it out today in church, when Jason commented that you really looked tired. (Lovely, but tired.) And it totally clicked that you haven't looked quite your normal perky self lately. Congratulations. And yes, I've missed your blogging thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI'm just so proud of myself for keeping the secret all those weeks- I thought for sure that Brigham would be announcing it in primary by now:). And how is it that all of those things can sound so cute and novel to me when I just barely got through with the reality of them? Happy napping:)
ReplyDeleteCute Cute! It is so funny most people I talk to don't seem to think that being pregnant is so miserable and I just can't relate to that. Sorry you are on the same porcelain worshiping, fast food craving, no sugar, almost pass out when you take a shower team with me. I hope everything gets better. But what fun to be adding another little one to your beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Crystal. Pregnancy is so not magical. I'm really happy for you guys! Hope you feel better soon. Are the kids excited?
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! That is so exciting. I'm sorry you've been so sick, but glad it's getting better. As for the sugar thing...look out. I had that with Jonathan but then at about 6/7 months I started CRAVING sugar. I put on more weight with him than any of the others, and I'm still trying to lose it. Love you and good luck!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Lindsay! I had a sinking suspicion, just because, but now I know and am so happy for you :) Enjoy those naps, and mental lapses ;)
ReplyDeleteK
Congrats! What a cute way to announce it!
ReplyDeleteYay! I missed you and your blog. :) I mean... sure I still talk to you and such, but... still. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I wondered if this news might be coming soon. And I can sympathize more with you, because I have been through that before. But you're through the first trimester now, so hopefully some of this will subside. Love ya!
ReplyDeleteWhat great news! I'm so happy for you! Now that you've passed the 1st trimester, hopefully the sickness can be tamed. It's amazing how many ways pregnancy affects the body. I got a good laugh from your "BBS" post!
ReplyDeleteHow Wonderful!!! Congrats! I knew from the first two pictures! I am so excited for you guys! I am glad that you are feeling better now! When are you due? We hope you had a Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what was taking you so long on blogging. You usually do it more often than I do. Congratulations. I am very excited for you. I will let you know how crazy it will be raising three kids. talk to you later.
ReplyDeleteCongrats:) I am pretty sick in the first few months myself, but I am lucky because I don't or haven't thrown up. I just lie around and can't move much. I am sorry that you are one of those unfortunate ones that gets sick. It has been fun reading your blog so I am glad that you are back. I hope things continue to go well for you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your pregnancy! I hope you can start to feel better now that the first trimester is over!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news... I'm so excited for you guys. Not the least bit jealous about the pukiness, but none-the-less, excited. Send my congrats to Brian and the kids too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute way to announce (although I actually read the Carson story first :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Hope you continue to get your strength back.
