Fearing Fevers

Do these pictures break anyone else's heart? My poor little Miles was admitted into the hospital yesterday with a fever. Tonight is our second night here, and we're hopeful they'll let us go tomorrow afternoon. They've found the source of his fever - enterovirus meningitis. Yes, meningitis is a scary word (inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord)...thankfully it's viral instead of bacterial. He'll hopefully be back to normal with a few days rest, but he sure gave us a scare yesterday. I'll fill you in on the details later, but now I need some sleep.

I will, however submit a humble, unashamed request for prayers... we hope he returns to normal quickly - with no setbacks along the way...

Our sweet little boy

  6. Thanks for the pictures. I am convinced that one of the hardest things in the world is to turn our babies over to the Dr's. Just know that your family is always in our prayers(Especially little Miles) and that the Lord is in the details. I'm proud of you and Brian and know that all will work out.
See you soon, I love you soooo much.

  9. My Melanie was also in the hospital when she was very small, and everything about it hurt! I hope your Miles feels better soon and they let you go home. You will be in our prayers!

Congratulations on his safe delivery. He looks so precious. And YOU look beautiful. Completely unfair for a woman who's been in labor... I'm sure your family is loving your sweet new addition.

  10. Oh Linds, my heart is just breaking for you. It just doesn't seem fair that babies that little should get sick. Seeing those pictures takes me back to when Katherine had a lung infection when she wasn't even 24 hours old. I didn't have the heart to even take a picture of what she was going through. Having a baby admitted to the hospital can be such a scarry and heartbreaking thing. I'm glad he's out of the hospital and I pray he and your family are doing better. I love you!
